What's the point of a diaper?

This is what I get to deal with about once a week
Now aren't you just jealous?!! And every time she does this she's smilin huge at me (probably because it feels good to get all that out, but I like to pretend like she thinks it's funny)- what a mess- yuck!

As promised...

Some pics of my crazy neighbor lady... yes, she's holding a fly swatter (???)... yes, that's in my front yard and no she didn't even see me, let alone me taking a pic of her, lol! Who the heck knows what she's doing. I know that she often loses her cat and at first I thought that she might be chasing after a bee, but then I saw her go across the street still looking for something.
Now this lady is 50 (that's what Tim told me after talking to her), but she looks about 70! She always looks very homely and unkept like this too! After wandering through my yard she proceeded to go across the street and bug the neighbor there. And then here I am with a million paint speckles on my face... no that's not glitter! Can you guess what I was painting today?? If you guessed ceiling you're right!FYI- painting ceilings are NOT FUN!!!

Bored kiddos

Finding a baby sitter for the girls isn't always the easiest thing so they are stuck with coming with us most of the time when we haven't been doing something that could be harmful to them. This is usually where my girls are at the house- Hailey in the pack n play and Hannah in the swing. Unfortunately though, Hailey can get out of the pack n play. If you leave her alone for too long she gets out and "helps". I think I went to the bathroom and came back to see her artwork. Luckily that color goes on the wall. She's already ruined one pair of her nice jeans from getting into wet paint, but we got lucky this time and the paint just went on the walls and her hands.

Uninvited visitors

What a strange title to a blog post- yet oh so true! First of all, we have a very nosy neighbor to the west of us who's a little on the crazy side. The minute that anyone steps out the back door she's right there yapping your ear off. It's almost as if she waits on her back porch for us to come outside. I've tried to get a pic of her, but everytime I go to get one she goes back inside her own house. The big problem with her is that she will talk and talk and talk and we're at the house trying to get things done. We don't have a lot of time so our time is very valuable right now. I've had to go outside and rescue Tim a few times (asking him something like "honey can I get your help lifting this?" lol) because he's just too passive to excuse himself back to work. I promise to eventually get a pic of our crazy neighbor lady soon though!

Now we have another set of visitors. I was painting the living room and was able to get a quick pic of them as they were getting out of their car. This is Tim's mom's parents. They have shown up almost every day of the week for the past week. Now I need to explain a little more as to why they keep showing up: First of all, they lived on the house across the street and over one house to the left for about 40 years so they are excited to see us moving into their old neighborhood. Second... they are old, bored, and have nothing better to do~~~ The problem with them coming over so much is because they want to talk and stand in the way. I don't have any furniture there yet except for a pack n play, baby swing, and a wash and dryer. I'm not equipped to entertain nor do I have the time to do so when I'm at the house to work right now. On top of that, they never call first. I told Tim that if this pattern continues while we're living there I'm going to keep the curtains drawn, park my car in the alley, and keep the door locked! I'm glad to have company, but in reasonable amounts and a courtesy call is usually nice too. I mean come on- I'm lucky if I shower each day and my house will usually be messy from kids!

Sister time

Hailey is always dying to hold Hannah. She gets very protective when other people are holding her as well and she calls Hannah "my baby!" I've even caught her trying to pick her up a few times when Hannah is on the ground- oops! Each time I have to try and explain to her why she can't do that without mommy's help, but let's face it, she's just a kid (and a very independent one at that) and she just doesn't listen to what I say most of the time.

Poo time

I think that Hailey is ready for potty training now. Every time she has to go poo she goes to her "spot" which is the end table she is next to and sits underneath it to do her business. What's really hilarious is everytime she's under there and we ask her if she's going poop she screams "Noooo!!" at us.

New carpet pics

We had carpet installed last Friday on the stairs and both bedrooms on the main level! Here are the 2 bedrooms on the main floor with new carpet, paint, and the icky wall paper borders gone!!

Bouncing back

I just love how fast little ones bounce back from their surgery. Hailey has been going full force since just a few hours after her surgery. Annnnddd here's the proof: Notice how that bandage used to be pink?!! She's been using her hand just like normal and it was really grossSoooo.... I had to change it and now her bandage is green. If I do say so myself, I do a pretty professional job! I learned very quickly with the last surgery because we had to change it a few times from her pulling at it. Notice the tears on her face =( it's been a really hard morning for her. I was trying my best to be soft and not hurt her, but let's face it, she just had her fingers cut into 2 days ago so of course it's going to be sore. It just broke my heart to hurt her like that, but it was really unsanitary for her bandage to be like that. Plus, she manged to get her middle finger out and that should be wrapped up still since it was in between that finger and her ring finger that she had the surgery on. And to add to her misery it can be painful to put her hand through sleeves so we also have to be very careful which shirts we put her in.

Surgery Part 2

This morning we got to get up bright and early to be at the Shriner's hospital at 6am (Yuck!!!) to get checked in for Hailey's surgery on her left hand this time. She had the webbing fixed in between her middle and ring finger. I'm super tired in this pic--- I can't even remember the last time that I had to wake up before 7am (besides nursing Hannah of course, but then again I'm only half awake for that, lol!!). Hailey's all scrubbed up and ready to go here- they put a sock over her left arm after they sterilize it. We're waiting in the pre-op area here. She's giving me the evil eye because we kept asking her not to climb on it the bed, but nothing was stopping her here.

This is her dr that has done now both of her surgeries. He's just checking things over again and talking to us about what's going to happen. Hailey is super loopy because they give kids something to relax them before they roll them out and have to leave the parents and then get the anestesia (spelling???)
Playing with our Hanners in the waiting room.
We came down from the waiting room and Hailey was bawling again, just like last time. It took me about 10 minutes or so to calm her down and then once she was asleep again I laid her down and she was out like a rock!
She woke up and she ate all her food!! She's still pretty groggy here, but she was being a good sport for mommy here and even said cheese!
Waiting to get checked out.
All dressed now and ready to go- she's showing me her "owie"
Back at home after a nice long nap~~~ Those are 2 of the toys that she got to take home with her from the hospital. She was back to her happy crazy self once she woke up from her nap at home and she was saying "owie", but not to her hand... it was to her foot where they put the iv in, haha. It really just makes me happy to see her bounce back so fast!

Another one (or five) bites the dust!

5 is a very important # to me- because that's how I like to mark my weight loss!!
This past week marked another milestone for me~~~~~~I lost another five pounds!!! Which brings the total to 10!!! And this is all after I already lost the baby weight from Hannah!! I told myself that once I lost 15 pounds I could buy myself a new pair of jeans and let me tell you, the ones I have right now are hanging off of me- yay!! I have a $50 gift certificate for Gap that I bought off of www.groupon.com/spokane (fabulous site if you ever want to check it out!!) for only $25 that I've been saving for just this occasion. Each day that site has a great deal and I happened to check it this day that the gap sale was going on. Gap is just about the place that I can find flattering pants for my shape and height so I was super excited when I saw that deal- I mean come on, who doesn't love free money?!!

Exciting news!!!

Tim and I have finally set a temple date!! October 23rd!!! It's been a long, hard road to get here with many difficult struggles, but we've made it through the hard times and we're both very excited now! I just can't wait to be sealed to my husband and children- I love them with all my heart!

My big baby!

I took Hannah to her Wic appt this last week and she's already 13 lbs 10 oz! I bet she'll be double her birth weight by the time her 4 month check up comes =)And then my other big "baby"~~~ It's still weird to me that she's not the baby anymore. She's getting mommy a drink here!

More before house pics

Stairs- there were actually 2 layers of old carpet that Tim had to tear up so these are getting new carpet and new paint! Laundry room- it's quite a tight squeeze so we plan on fixing up the unfinished basement and moving the laundry down there in the future and probably turnign this into a fabulous walk-in pantry. If you look closely at the window notice all the old hardware around the frame??? Previous owners just kept painting over the old sets of hardware on the windows in the house and I've removed about 3 sets of hardware from every window in the house! What a pain!

View of the kitchen Another view of the kitchen

View from the top of the stairs-up ahead is going to be the girls bedroom and on the left is extra space where we're giong to store all of their toys. Luckily the floors are in really good condition upstairs so it just needs a fresh coat of paint up here!

View of the toy area

Pic of girls room- that window is the one at the front of the house.
View of Hailey in her new room!

Busy, busy, busy

So a little over 2 weeks ago we signed the papers on our new home and it officially became ours!! Since then we have been super busy making the house "ours". This first pic is our new house, yay~~ notice the cute old lamp post out front?!! Unfortunately the previous owners neglected the yard big time this summer, but we'll be fixing that up starting this next spring. This is the view of my front entry way- Tim and I tore out the marble on the floor- it wasn't my taste at all and the tile job was horrible! The old magazine rack on the side was torn out too. It's getting a fresh coat of paitn on the walls and trim and there is a doorway to the right that leads into the living room that we framed in and put a wall in View from the living room-yes those are beautiful french doors!! I'm going to try to strip the paint off of those and then that doorway to the right is the one that we framed in! It just didn't make sense to us to have those french doors, but then another doorway into the living room?? So we decided to frame it in- it took quite a bit of work since the dry wall doesn't match up with the old lathe and plaster very well, but thanks to the help of my wonderful brother in law and dad in law it looks wonderful now! Another view of the living room- if you can see the wall framed in above the window that is a very old school window blinds that slide across the entire length of the wall. We tore that down as well last week and it really opened up the room. This room is getting a fresh coat of paint on walls and trim as well along with new pergo floors!! My beautiful new bay window- gorgeous!! At least it will be once I get done with it, lol! Same old window blind set up above the window that was torn down as well. A view of the dining room right when you walk into the house. Bathroom pic- getting new paint, floors, and toilet. Though the previous owners updated the bathroom before we purchased the home we're doing a little more updating =)Ugh this is another bedroom on the main level. The wallpaper border was NOT fun to remove- neither was that old built in dresser!! When we took out the dresser there were papers from the 1950's behind there! This will be our bedroom- same icky wall paper border and this room was even more of a pain to remove! Both room are getting new paint and carpet as well! View of the back of my house. View of the backyard- yes we have a nice new white vinyl fence, but some pieces aren't up so we need to fix that. The old shed is getting torn down- or rather some of it is falling down- and a new one we bought from Lowe's is going up in it's place. In the future we also plan to put a garage in the backyard.

Wait!!

K I'm still alive... just wanted to let people know. Since we closed on the house we've been working our little bum's off to get the house in move in ready condish. I've taken lots of pics so far, but the camera is at the house right now. We're still only about halfway through the remodel process though we're really starting to see good progress now as a good chunk of the painting is done and floors are starting to get laid. I'll post pics and new posts as soon as I get a chance. I've spent so much money and time in Lowe's within the past 2 weeks that some days I feel like I live there... and for how much money we've spent it might as well be our rent money, lol! OUr big purchases from there so far are--- storage shed, carpet plus installation costs, pergo floors for 3 areas, tile for 2 areas, lots of sheetrock and cement board, and many many other 1-2 hundred dollar purchases for lots of other miscellaneous stuff. Luckily we had profit from the sale of our first home to cover all of this. Literally just about every free day and evening is spent over there and, yes, we are VERY VERY tired!!! It will be super nice once we can move in and relax for a bit!
