Canadian Muchachos

So last Saturday night we went to Tim's parents lip syncing show that their ward does. Now I must say that usually I'm not a fan of lip syncing, but there were some pretty gooAdd Imaged acts. The one that I laughed the hardest at was Tim's dad and his older brother Matt. Honestly- they were absolutely hilarious. I should have taken some video so I could post it too, but I was too busy taking the stills. I guess that's what happens when DeRon retires- he gets bored and enjoys making a fool out of himself. The best part is that Tim's mom, Glenna had no clue what their act was or even their costumes. Hailey had a blast dancing in the front too though I kept having to chase after her because the gym doors were wide open and she loves to run around the church! My camera wasn't cooperating very well and everytime I zoomed in the flash didn't want to work, but hopefully these turn out ok. And yes, Canadian Muchachos was their group name, lol!!

Fun at Savageland

Today I met my mom, sister, and cousins and we had lunch and played around. I managed to get a few pics of the girls together in the ball pit. And if you've ever been there before I somehow managed to crawl around the giant tube maze that they have very pregnant and all. I was only able to climb/ crawl to the top once though cause the bh contractions were letting me know it was time to stop, lol. Hailey sure had lots of fun and crashed right away when I laid her down for her nap when we got home.

Chili mess!

Hailey is a very, very good eater- she isn't picky and eats exactly what we're eating every night so I never have to make anything special for her. I really shouldn't be complaining at all, but she's just so messy! Overall though she's doing great at feeding herself. I'm so proud of my little girl who's just getting so big lately. She's also very into climbing on things lately. Her latest thing that she's been able to master is climbing into her high chair on her own. The trick is that the tray has to be off though. I didn't even know that she was able to do that until the other day when I was cleaning the tray off and saw her climbing on in. I tried to hurry and snap a pic, but my camera is slow and her head is down. Oh well =)

Talent Show

Our ward held a talent show last Friday and Tim performed in an act with some of the guys from the elder's quorom. They all got similar costumes and actually sounded pretty darn good. It was a little long for Hailey, but a combination of Grandpa, a sucker, and fruit snacks kept her pretty quiet for most of the time. I've been trying to upload the video of Tim's group all afternoon, but it won't let me so if you're really interested let me know and I can e-mail it to you. This pic is just of them getting ready to perform. Tim's in the back holding the tambourine talking with Adam.

A kind word goes a long way!

Up until this point I have been taking Hailey to my dr appts and she's usually a monster everytime we go. Not really that bad I suppose, but she thinks that the office is her own personal playground. She constantly bolts through the waiting room doors that they always have wide open and runs up and down their halls until we catch up to her and carry her back... Or she tries to make a claim of "mine" when another kid is playing with the toy in the waiting room... Or, like the other day, she runs to another mom's purse and starts to rummage through it. I swear I can't get out the no's and sorrys fast enough sometimes.

Anyways, yesterday I met with Karen who is the lady that I see every other time instead of Dr. Brown. She is fabulous and is really wonderful. Of course I had to bring Hailey up on the table with me while I was measured and we heard the baby's heartbeat. That part I'm getting pretty used to. Yes Hailey was stubborn and independent like always, but as we're packing up Hailey's mess Karen looks at me and says "Christy you're doing a good job with her." What?!! Some days I feel like I'm absolutely going to pull my hair out! I just looked at her, stunned, and said "Thanks I try."

Let me tell you what- it sure felt really good to hear that, especially from someone that we don't see very often. I've been praying a lot lately for help with my patience with my little monster. Some days, like today, she just pushes my buttons way past what I thought they could and I'm sure that my crazy pregnancy hormones don't help that at all! I suppose that my days of bringing Hailey to these appts are limited- I doubt I want her there once they start to check me =)

A beautiful day!!

This afternoon we had a follow up appt for Hailey's surgery. The surgeon was very happy with how her hand was healing and only asked that I massage lotion in between her 2 fingers to help prevent scar tissue. That is an easy fix!! Her fingers are really starting to look good now and she can finally take a bath again- Yipeeeee!!! I've had to shower with her, which is such a pain right now. I would usually try to do it at night so that Tim would be home and I could pass her off to him once she was done. Keeping the doors closed is a must- I learned that lesson the hard way when one time I put her out of the shower and while I dried off she promptly ran out of the bathroom buck naked and dripping wet!

It was super nice on our way home from the Shriner's hospital that I decided to make a little detour and we headed up to Manito Park. We took a short walk (it's amazing how out of shape I am right now) visited the duckies, and played on the toys! I sure hope that it stays nice out so that I can keep my weight gain down with this pregnancy and get outside more!

Go, go, go!!!

As most of probably know already, my child does not have an off switch!! It's always on! Which, by the way, I apologize to all about, especially the nursery workers at church since she just went for the first time today- we really do try to work with her on that, but my efforts seem to go unrewarded most of the time. Sometimes we wish that she were more of a relaxed child, but then I suppose she wouldn't be ours. She's so stinkin independent and just like me... YIKES!! But we love her all the same and her personality is so unique that is makes for very interesting days. One of my favorite things to do is to watch Tim play with her. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen and he can really get her laughing. He's so good with kids because he's such
a goofball at heart.

Sunday mornings are always an adventure as I'm sure most would agree. I have to take a shower the night before because if I try to do it all that morning I start to overheat and feel really sick. It's the weirdest thing ever, but at least it has an easy solution. Once we get Hailey dressed for church, which is usually one of the last things because she is super messy, she loves to clunk around in her dress shoes on our hard floors. Then Tim joins in and they march around the house together while I finish getting ready. This morning before church they both looked so nice together and I tried desperately to get a good one of them too, but of course my wild child was uncooperative. I suppose I need to bring out the camera more often and get her used to smiling. Here's the best I could get- Enjoy!

New adventures

Lately Hailey has been very into climbing. Anything she's actually able to get up onto she does and if she's not able to she says "Ma mah mama ma mah mama... " over and over and over again until I put her where she wants to be. Most of what she says is some version of mom, dad, or baby. For example, please is Mah, but kind of rhyming with please. She's such a ham sometimes. Anyways, I can't seem to keep her off of the coffee table. Whenever I turn my back to do dishes or something else I look back and there she is again. Of course I'm trying to teach her not to and to get down, but not without snapping a pic first. I managed to catch her in mid scream while she was bouncing around.

She's also very fascinated in climbing into her dolly stroller, but it's hilarious because each time she does the wheels bow out because the whole thing is plastic and usually she can't get out of it by herself without tumbling over. She really isn't the best with smiling for pics, but I did get a really good one of her in mid-cry because I wouldn't help her out of it right at the moment.

It's not always as it seems...

Okay... so 99% of the time, when your child is being quiet as can be and leaving you along they are most likely getting into something that they shouldn't be. This morning as I'm doing the dishes I noticed that Hailey was abnormally absent from the area. Now this is very odd for her because EVERY TIME I do the dishes she does nothing but try to climb on the dish washer, pull things out of the dish washer, etc! I called out her name and nothing so of course I had to go investigate to see what mess she managed to make this time. We've babyproofed a lot of our house, but as I'm quickly learning kids are very resourceful and will always find something new and bigger to get into. So I crept through the house very quietly to surprise her and as I come around the corner to her room guess what I see?!! She's playing in her room by herself! This is practically unheard of!!! First of all because most of the time Hailey is way more fascinated in mom and dad's things than in her own toys and secondly because she always has to be around us. So I tried to sneak away quickly as I could so that she would stay happy playing by herself and she did... this time!
