So once again no pics- sorry I know that blogs just aren't as fun without pics unless you are extremely witty and I definitely don't fall into that category lol. It's not that i don't like to take pictures, but more of not wanting to feel like I'm inconveniencing anyone by asking. Some people are able to paint a picture with their words so I'm gonna give it a try....
Imagine a night- whole entire night to do whatever your heart desires- by yourselves... no kids, no work, no worries, etc. in a place that always has something to do 24/7...
Do I have your attention yet??!!
For our anniversary we went and spent the night at Northern Quest. This is the first time that we have been out there since their huge remodel where they added a hotel, spa, and many restaurants. Hubby and I used to go out there about once a month and play the slot machines for fun with a big group of friends. Let me tell you what that place is amazing now! We started off by a fantasticly (yep I just made a word, but this place deserves it!) wonderful dinner at Masselow's. Very very spendy, but it was worth every penny. The food was amazing and definitely very high class and intimate for a "grown-up" dinner =) We actually ended up getting an appetizer, 2 soups, and then split an entree so that we could try more of their food. They served all sorts of in between course "snacks" and we were treated like royalty. Next we wandered down to the casino part. We hadn't planned on gambling much but though it would be fun to do a little. We started on the slots and both lost immediately of course lol- it was only about $5 a piece at that point. Then I casually mentioned to Tim that I had never played any of the table games before. So of course we started circling around to find a table with 2 seats with a game that we could actually play that had a low limit- can you believe that some people actually play $25+ per hand- yikes! We just stuck with good ol blackjack- I mean come on who doesnt' know how to play that. Let me tell you what- I had a lot of fun! I did pretty well and we came out even. Then we went and swam in the pool for a bit, which was nice because they have family and adult times. I have my own children that I love, but we really appreciated the adult time and not having to deal with splashing children or teens. Following that we went back down to play a little more blackjack, ate some fries, got a smoothie, and did some amusing people watching!
Saturday morning we treated ourselves to a relaxing spa day. We got a couples massage and relaxed in their sauna area- ALL WITHOUT THE KIDS! Stopped at a few yard sales on the way back and found a dresser that we desperately needed for Natalie- $15 yes!- and ate a really nice quiet lunch.
I really enjoyed my time alone with Tim. I love how connected and lovey we can still be with each other even after having 3 kiddos and being married 8 years. And hey best part of the night- hubs told me I looked "hot"... Love him to pieces~!
