Growing one day at a time

This past week there is a lot going through my mind... things that I'm not ready to mention publicly, but still I think we have all been there at some point or another. Where our minds won't stop turning and turning and we're constantly filled with "what-ifs" and "??????"... just wondering where our life is going and what our Heavenly Father has in store for us.

Well that is where I am right now- and just now I had the strong impression "Trust in me daughter because I know what is best for you"

So for now that is what I shall do... Trust in HIM!

Happy birthday Hannah!

My (sometimes) sweet Nanner- banners turned 3 May 31st!!! Where on earth has time gone?!! We celebrated with family at a park- and it's grandpa's bday on June 1st so we celebrated him as well-  so that the girls could play. Looking back I really got a lot of nice pictures. I had a blast using my zoom lens and got some amazing pictures where people had no clue I was taking them- those are the best!

Randoms about Hannah:
She's cute- yep pretty stinkin cute and she KNOWS IT! HA!
She is completely potty trained- even at night!
She can also get herself buckled into her carseat now- yipeee!!!
She is by far my most stubborn child- but probably the most lovey too =)
She loves butterflies... and dirt- what a nice combination right?!
She is quite afraid of the water- mainly getting her face wet, yet surprises me all the time by asking to do things like go down the waterslide!
She is also very afraid of swings- why?? I have absolutely no clue but if you try and put her in one she screams bloody murder. That is until her bday where she would at least sit on the swing for a few minutes.

I have learned never to underestimate her and that she is by far my most stubborn child
This was taken at dinner before the park- yep too stubborn to get a nice one with mommy
Darling baby girl

Birthday buddies
Funny story- Tim broke the knife cutting through the ice cream cake lol
Beautiful pic of Great grandma- even better- she's wearing Tim's hoodie!
I love this of my dad and my niece Devynn
I get the best smile from my mom when she's not looking

Happy big sissy

I am a mean mom

Fact- being a mom is HARD work!
Fact- I have 3 very independent stubborn GIRLS! (and if you think a 10 mo old can't be like that I severely beg to differ and will prove you wrong!)
Fact- I DO discipline my children and expect them to behave, listen, and grow up to be respectable adults!

Scenario yesterday:
I took the girls grocery shopping with me later in the afternoon because earlier I had done something for myself and squeeze in 30 min at the gym- I would have gone longer, but the babes was being a difficult ones- shocker right?!! This is never a good idea to encroach on dinner time, but it had to be done. My 4 yr old was being an outright turd in the store. Have you ever seen those pics floating around the internet of kids in the bottom corner of a cart with the parents groceries piled on time of them.... yep that is what I felt like doing to her.

So fast forward to home about 2 hours later. Shopping trip was NOT fun for me. Dinner is about done and 4 yr old gets very dramatic because I tell her that even if she eats all of her dinner she DOES NOT get a popsicle because of her behavior in the store... cue instant meltdown. So then I'm the "mean mommy" as she likes to call me when she doesn't get her way. Tim asks her if she wants to live with us if I'm so mean and she says no. My child didn't want to live with me anymore- and even though I know that she doesn't mean it and it just frustrated and upset it absolutely breaks my heart.

And now I definitely understand why so many parents don't "parent" anymore- it's much easier to be your child's "friend"....

Of course all is well this morning now. She is perky and cute again after a long sleep last night, but I have definitely had a big lesson thrown in my face...

The next 20+ years are going to be some of the hardest in your life, especially as these sweet spirits get older and even more independent and stubborn. I can always be a friend to my children, but I can NEVER stop being their PARENT!!! Yep that's right I said PARENT! And if my children don't like what I"m doing then that probably means that I'm doing something right.

So to all of the other "mean mommies" out there- GOOD JOB! Every single day- 24 hrs a day- we do some of the hardest work on earth! It is far from easy, but it is SO WORTH IT!

Not sure what to do...

Anyone else feel very conflicted like I do concerning working out??!! So Tim got me the Y membership a little over 2 years ago so that I could work out and use their childcare too... but lately I'm having a heck of a time getting to the gym. Don't get me wrong- I LOVE working out and I especially love the way it makes me feel inside and out. So my predicament goes as such:

Childcare opens at 9am- I try my darnest to be there by 9, but usually there about 915... Natalie is due for a nap between 930-10 usually and she gets very very fussy and they just come and get me.
Natalie wakes up about 12ish then comes lunch and I don't dare try and take kids to the childcare without having lunch because once again- they will come and get me from her being too fussy.
Childcare is closed from 1-4. Then after 4 is just crazy land for me and a complete whirlwind filled with way too much since it's dinner time, bath time, extra activities, work around the house, etc.

So to make a long story short I'm having a VERY hard time finding time to work out lately. By the time my girls are in bed I'm either too pooped to move or need to relax with the hubs or clean up the disaster of my kids...

And then add to that the fact that I have an upcoming 10 yr reunion that I'd prefer not to look like a whale at and it makes me dizzy... hmmm... the time the time... WHO HAS THE TIME??!! Ugh not me =(

I feel very at odds on whether to keep my gym membership or start trying just a little bit harder to fit it into my schedule.

Anniversary Fun!

So once again no pics- sorry I know that blogs just aren't as fun without pics unless you are extremely witty and I definitely don't fall into that category lol. It's not that i don't like to take pictures, but more of not wanting to feel like I'm inconveniencing anyone by asking. Some people are able to paint a picture with their words so I'm gonna give it a try....

Imagine a night- whole entire night to do whatever your heart desires- by yourselves... no kids, no work, no worries, etc. in a place that always has something to do 24/7...

Do I have your attention yet??!!

For our anniversary we went and spent the night at Northern Quest. This is the first time that we have been out there since their huge remodel where they added a hotel, spa, and many restaurants. Hubby and I used to go out there about once a month and play the slot machines for fun with a big group of friends. Let me tell you what that place is amazing now! We started off by a fantasticly (yep I just made a word, but this place deserves it!) wonderful dinner at Masselow's. Very very spendy, but it was worth every penny. The food was amazing and definitely very high class and intimate for a "grown-up" dinner =) We actually ended up getting an appetizer, 2 soups, and then split an entree so that we could try more of their food. They served all sorts of in between course "snacks" and we were treated like royalty. Next we wandered down to the casino  part. We hadn't planned on gambling much but though it would be fun to do a little. We started on the slots and both lost immediately of course lol- it was only about $5 a piece at that point. Then I casually mentioned to Tim that I had never played any of the table games before. So of course we started circling around to find a table with 2 seats with a game that we could actually play that had a low limit- can you believe that some people actually play $25+ per hand- yikes! We just stuck with good ol blackjack- I mean come  on who doesnt' know how to play that. Let me tell you what- I had a lot of fun! I did pretty well and we came out even. Then we went and swam in the pool for a bit, which was nice because they have family and adult times. I have my own children that I love, but we really appreciated the adult time and not having to deal with splashing children or teens. Following that we went back down to play a little more blackjack, ate some fries, got a smoothie, and did some amusing people watching!

Saturday morning we treated ourselves to a relaxing spa day. We got a couples massage and relaxed in their sauna area- ALL WITHOUT THE KIDS! Stopped at a few yard sales on the way back and found a dresser that we desperately needed for Natalie- $15 yes!- and ate a really nice quiet lunch.

I really enjoyed my time alone with Tim. I love how connected and lovey we can still be with each other even after having 3 kiddos and being married 8 years. And hey best part of the night- hubs told me I looked "hot"... Love him to pieces~!

Catch up

Wowza it's been a long time since I've posted on here. I just haven't had the motivation for it. Let's see what's happened over the last few months...

Hailey has decided to grow her bangs out, which makes her look so much older now (insert sad face here). She'll be starting up t-ball soon for the first time, will be 5- yes 5- in Oct and also starts pre-school this coming fall.. where I have no clue... but I'll figure it out.

Hannah will be 3 at the end of this month already. She is completely potty trained- even at night- YIPEEEE!!!! She is turning out to be quite the stubborn little turd, but hey what else can I expect. She is also very loving and affectionate too.

Natalie will be 9 mo in just 9 days already! The time just flies by and I swear you don't appreciate it all until you can still remember very clearly your oldest being your youngest age. She started crawling at 7 mo and hasn't stopped since! She goes very fast and stands up on everything- and I mean EVERYTHING- right now! She can even crawl onto the bottom step of the stairs, but hasnt' realized she can keep crawling up yet thank goodness for that. She has 2 teeth and is a very vocal babes with lots of spunk already. If anyone can remember Hailey... well that's Natalie lol. A go-go-go child with a cowlick in the front and hair that grows straight forward over her eyes.

Tim and I have been super busy as well. WE have been trying to make more of an effort to get out together for dates... though that is definitely easier said than done. Our 8 yr anniversary is in 5 days and we're planning an overnight getaway from the kiddos!  I have started up softball this year again- I actually found a team that plays on thursdays (not sundays!) and I'm not pregnant (yet lol!). It's been a lot of fun so far and I feel like I gained a little piece of myself back. We have a lot of fun things planned this summer already- trip to Canada, Seattle, camping, my 10 year reunion (Yikes), and Tim's company picnic to name a few.

We will also have some serious remodeling going on at our house this summer as well! We are knocking down walls upstairs and putting in a bathroom and another bedroom. We are in desperate need of another bathroom space in our house and so we've saved up the money to do it!

Well that's a quickie version of what's been happening. Hopefully I'll get around to posting a few pic soon- toodles!
